Description203 off-white trade beads, strung together with 15 black beads. They were retrieved from the waters of the Winnipeg River in Ontario. The current interpretation for these objects is that they sank to the bottom of the river during canoe accidents. In the fur trade context, glass beads were destined for trade with Indigenous individuals and communities in exchange for furs and food. They in turn would use them to adorn their clothing.
