DescriptionThis bed is in the so-called Elizabethan Revival style, related to the Gothic Revival and characterized by spool-turned elements inspired by English furniture of the 17th century. It was a style that originated in the United States and was adopted in Canada, particularly in Ontario. Spool-turned beds were popularly called "Jenny Lind" after the famous Swedish opera singer, who reputedly slept in such a bed during a concert tour of North America.
