DescriptionBorn in Brooklyn, New York, and raised and trained in the United States, McKinley went on to become one of Canada's foundational studio ceramic artists. She taught, with her furniture making husband Donald McKinley, at Sheridan College when it was first established, and became an important mentor to generations of Canadian potters. She was the first potter to be inducted into the Royal Canadian Academy for the Arts.
