This necklace of wedjat eyes is a modern pastiche.  The set of fifteen identical eyes may have come from the wrappings of a mummy.  Strings of wedjat eyes often circled the neck of the deceased for protection from harm and to secure the head to the neck.

The largest bead is composed of a great number of wedjat eyes, all the better to protect the deceased, or possibly the living.
