DescriptionThis fine ivory model architect's square was not used in life, but is a miniature model placed in a grave. Architectural tools, such as the square, plumb bob and level were all used in Ancient Egypt, and both actual tools and models such as this have been found dating back to the Third Dynasty.
Object History: Excavated by the Egypt Exploration Society, 1908-1909
