Many small votive figures of frogs, made from a variety of materials, were found among the discarded votives of the Early Temple at Abydos.  Frog votives have also been found at Hierakonpolis.

Frogs appear, from later evidence, to have been associated with fertility, both because of the multitudes of tadpoles that would have been seen in ponds and pools left by the Inundation, and as evidence of the life-giving Inundation itself.  In later periods, the frog goddess Heket was a protectress of pregnant woman. Squatting frogs like this one appear on Middle Kingdom 'magic wands' which were also connected to pregnancy and childbirth, and were always popular as amulets.
