DescriptionBracelets made of strings of beads were popular throughout Egyptian history. This fine example from the Middle Kingdom consists of beads of carnelian, lapiz lazuli, turquoise and gold leaf over ceranic forms. Two of the beads are amulets, in the smape of recumbant lions. Feline forms, both lions and domestic cats, were commonly used as bracelet spaces.
