Description

To move large blocks of stone, Ancient Egyptian builders used wooden rollers.  They were short, with rounded ends to prevent their catching.  Many were found in the builder's waste of the pyramid of Lahun by Flinders Petrie.  This is one of a number recovered at Deir el Bahari.  This example is well polished by use.
