DescriptionThis fragment of a nautical scene is somewhat unclear.  There is a section of mast in the centre of the image, but there seem to be far too many ropes for the size of sail that such a thin mast would support.  It may be that this was a picture of over-lapping ships and sails, and that the ropes belong to a number of vessels.
