DescriptionThe hawk head identifies this fragment from the 11th Dynasty temple of Nebhepetre Montuhotep as belonging to a ship, probably the stern of a papyrus skill.  The green oblique element at upper left may be an oar or pole.
Although clearly part of a nautical scene, the type of scene and the original location and function  of the piece in the temple's decoration have not been determined.
