DescriptionPart of a wooden tomb model of a type popular in undecorated tombs during the First Intermediate Period and Middle Kingdom. This disc-shaped object was probably used as a lid for a model container. It is roughly carved. The bottom side is flat and the top is rounded.  In shape it is a rounded square (6.5 x 6 cm) with a thickness of 2 cm. The rounded side is painted red-brown. Most of the paint in the centre has flaked off. The flat bottom has a dark stain.  The sides are covered with a pale brown paint with traces of white.
