DescriptionSmall figurines of cows in bright blue faience were among the commonest offerings made in the Hathor shrine at Deir el Bahari.  They were appropriate offerings to the goddess Hathor who is frequently depicted as a cow.  The forelegs and head of this artifact are missing.  We would expect that a sun disc would have been placed between the cow's horns in the missing part. Since none of these figurines have survived intact, we suspect that they were broken in the course of a ritual at the shrine
