Wooden model of a basket or box probably meant to contain bread in a brewery or bakery scene. This is a relatively tall model basket, basically trapezoidal in shape with the base being smaller than the top. There are two oval holes, each with a dowel attachment on the base. The top part is painted white to indicate the linen cloth covering the basket contents. The sides are painted a pale yellow with vertical and horizontal black lines. The effect is that of a checkerboard indicating a woven basket, perhaps with strengthening ribs. Chips are missing from the piece and the paint is worn in places.

Object History: Excavated by the Egypt Exploration Society, 1907-1910
