Description

This wooden model of a rectangular basket or box has a circular dowel on the base which would have connected it to a tomb model scene, perhaps a bakery. The sides taper down to the base which flares out on the short sides. The top part is slighly convex and has been painted white, possibly indicating a linen cloth covering the intended contents of the basket, probably bread. The vertical and horizontal black lines painted on the sides indicate the structural frame of the basket with the yellow colour indicating a lighter material (e.g. reeds, cloth etc.).
