DescriptionThis wooden model of a rectangular basket or box has a circular dowel on the base which would have connected it to a tomb model scene, perhaps a bakery. The sides taper down to a flat base. The top part is convex and has been painted white, possibly indicating a linen cloth covering the contents of the basket (bread?). The top is very worn and chipped. A black horizontal line marks the top of the basket.  Below this the container has been painted a pale yellow divided by black vertical lines.
Object History: Excavated by the Egypt Exploration Society, 1907-1910
