DescriptionThis scrap of antiquity was part of a bracelet made of greenish-blue glazed composition.  The colour resembled turquoise, the stone beloved by the goddess Hathor and by the Ancient Egyptians. This piece was excavated at the site of the turquoise mines in the Sinai, and was probably a votive offering to the goddess Hathor from one of the members of a mining expedition.
