This somewhat heavy and ungainly jar was nevertheless made with considerable skill from three pieces of stone fitted together.The original lid or stopper is long gone, as are the contents; such jars have been found in burial contexts and filled with oils or fats.

It appears to be a Saite or other very Late Period copy of an Archaic or Old Kingdom type in which the lugs would have been drilled and functional.
