DescriptionPart of a wooden tomb model of a type popular in undecorated tombs during the First Intermediate Period and Middle Kingdom. This model disc-shaped object was probably used as a lid for a model container. It is roughly carved. The bottom side is flat and the top is flat with a step down on one side. In shape it is round (4.5 cm in diameter) with a thickness of 1.4 cm. The top is painted red-brown. The side and bottom are painted white with some of the paint worn off. There are traces of a dark adhesive on the base.
