DescriptionThis ornate stone smoking pipe mimics the shape of a bird—possibly a crane. It was once part of a composite smoking pipe, comprised of the stone bowl and a detachable stem, likely made of wood. It was made and used approximately 400 years ago by Indigenous people of present-day Canada.
