DescriptionOn the Northwest Coast, ladles and spoons are made from hardwood, such as yew, maple, or alder, as well as from moutain goat and mountain sheep horn. The painted wood ladles and the carved horn spoons were reserved for feast use. The handle of the spoons are of mountain goat horn and retain the natural curve of the horn. The bowls are of mountain sheep horn, steamed and spread open.
