DescriptionEach summer between 1907 and 1911 Edmund Morris travelled to reserves in the prairie provinces where he executed around 135 pastel portraits of some sixty-five Plains Indians. As his father, Lt. Gov. Alexander Morris, negotiated most of the Plains Indian treaties, many of Edmund's subjects were distinguished individuals from the nomadic buffalo hunting days.
