DescriptionFor trips away from their villages, Igorot men used backpacks covered with layers of fibre made from palm leaf stalks. The fibre layers repelled rain and thus kept both the men and the backpack contents dry. Hunters used these backpacks to carry their provisions on the outbound journey and, if their hunt was successful, to carry meat back to the village.
