DescriptionThis calabash belonged to palace notables and was used to contain the palm oil for sacrifices in the palace. It was used until the end of the 1990s and then kept in the household of Pius Kungeh, a pot dealer living in the village of Nsei and a notable himself, who sold it to the ROM. The calabash has no lid. Fresh leaves were used as a stopper when oil was placed in it.
