DescriptionElaborately carved pipe head in the shape of a juju (masked spiritual being from the forest that appears in all community celebrations) or monkey head. Pipes such as this were exclusively used by men and most often owned by title holders and notables. The Fombah compound where this pipe was allegedly dug out is known for the skill of its male and female potters. It is possible that this pipe belonged to a member of the family.
