DescriptionIn the design of this leg splint, Eames brought into mass production the technology for moulding plywood into compound curves, initially developed in Finland by Alvar Aalto. Developed for the U.S. Navy, the Eames splint was light in weight and stackable, and thus readily transportable in a combat situation.
