DescriptionBetween 1754 and 1759, Josiah Wedgwood I was the partner of Thomas Whieldon (1719-1795), one of the most successful potters in Staffordshire. While working at Whieldon’s potteries in Fenton, Staffordshire, Wedgwood was able to pursue his own research into improved ceramic bodies. Scholars and collectors attribute a wide range of different wares to their pottery at Fenton Vivian.
