DescriptionWooden figure representing a woman whose head is surmounted by a double axe, a symbol associated with the god Shango. The limbs and the right part of the figure are missing, but it is likely that the figurine represented the kneeling figure of a Shango worshiper. Such figures would be kept on shrines dedicated to the god.
