Description

An exhibition label within the pocket reads: "Sachet from Hudson's Bay worked by the poorest class of Natives." The Northamptonshire Sewing Prize Scheme exhibition was held June 19-21, 1879 and the wall pocket was lot 129 in the Art Needlework section. It was exhibited by Miss S. Chase Sharman of Wellingborough, later given as a wedding gift to the donor's parents in 1967.
