DescriptionEating bowl with rounded bottom, and handle and spout decorated at the rim with incised zigzag lines delimiting a field decorated with parallel incised linear motifs. This bowl was produced by a potter of the village of Nsei, producing traditional style items for the Prespot pottery centre, a pottery cooperative founded by the Basel Mission in the 1970s. Although this particular item was purchased in the Prespot store, it is made and fired with traditional Nsei potting techniques and not dissimilar from objects that may be found at the weekly village market.
