DescriptionMade on calcified jade, this unique shaped ornament is rare but similar to those unearthed from Hongshan Culture, dated to 5000 BP, in Northeastern China. It appears in hollow elliptical cylinder flaring and partly extended at one end, smaller and even at other. Smooth polished exterior, it was less finely polished on the inside, which shows straight and curving scares of the cutting tools. (Gu Fang)
