DescriptionThis pale green translucent jade human-like figural pendant was probably re-carved from a fragment of a bi-form ring, dated to a previous age. A tiny biconical perforation for hanging was made in the flange of the finely striated crest. This pendant is distinguished by the fineness of the carving, the representation of detail, especially of the ear and the back-flange, and the placement of a cross-in-circle device on the knee rather than on the rump of the figure, where it is more often found. Traces of earth and red pigment can be seen.
