DescriptionArtist-designer Galileo Chini brought Italian majolica production into the 20th century with his use of Art Nouveau attenuated shapes and decorative motifs. Unlike the historicist designs of other majolica producers, Chini’s more contemporary designs brought about a change in Italian ceramic production and they were successful internationally. Later Chini worked briefly for the King of Siam and subsequently collaborated as an operatic set designer with Giacomo Puccini
