DescriptionThis imperial-size cabinet card was taken soon after Sadar Singh's accession by the portrait studio of Johnston and Hoffman. Another image from this sitting was used as the basis of a life-size oil painting done by Bert Harris, currently in the Mehrangarh Museum Trust. In this image, the young king is seen wearing a long tailored brocade coat (sherwani) and extensive jewellery in his tuban and around his neck made predominantly of pearls, diamonds and emeralds.
