DescriptionEpitaphs were positioned inside a tomb, usually near the entrance. This epitaph still retains it cover and indicates that Mei Duan (650 – 706) and Lady Hu (659 – 713) were buried together on the first day of the second month of the second year of the Xiantian period, at noon, "in a farewell for ten thousand years."
