DescriptionGently spreading straight sides rounded in below to straight foot with flat base - interior wall of foot rounded to base; sides rounded to flat bottom on interior. Buff stoneware peppered with black flecks; crackled white glaze on interior, and on base and interior wall of foot. Painted decoration in sepia, tan and red pigments and opaque white enamel: flowering gnarled prunus tree and one sapling growing from grasses with small red sun overhead; thirty magpies - most perched, some in flight; continuity of scene broken by four-character vertical inscription with signature and seal.
