DescriptionBronze mirrors with engraved decoration were first used in Etruria during the late 6th century BC. The incised decoration, frequently composed of figural scenes adapted from mythology, appears on the reverse side of the mirror disc. The reflecting side was a highly polished bronze surface. The discs were equipped with handles that were either bone attached to a tang or bronze cast in one piece with the disc.
