DescriptionThis oil flask (pointed aryballos) is a common Corinthian type, but the surface appearance suggests that it may not be true Corinthian, but rather an imitation made in Italy, either in Etruria or in South Italy. It is loosely dated to the Transitional or Early Corinthian period. The scale pattern was drawn with a compass, and the compass-points are visible.
