Description It is made of light green and semi-translucent jade with brown and gold clouding on one side. It is of fine polish, carved into classic wing-shaped form with angular indentation above where perforated for rod, and a pointed centre below. It is lozenge-shaped when viewed from the above. Both bordered faces are decorated identically with a broad and carefully depicted taotie animal mask flanked by inwardly-pointing T forms. Masks have diagonally-striated brows and claw-parts. 兽面纹玉剑格 汉 长 5.3、高 2.4厘米 玉质青白色,半透明,有褐色沁痕和裂纹。整体呈菱形,中间一长方形孔,两面碾琢兽面纹,兽大眼,扭丝纹眉上卷,鼻孔外翻,卷云形耳。通体打磨光润。 (Gu Fang)
