DescriptionSet of insignia for the front and back of the pufu (overcoat) of an 8th rank civil official (quail). Dark satin ground with all-over embroidery in peking knot and gold thread; background in gold couching. Left-facing bird on mound in billows with buddhist symbols; blue and green waves with gold thread; clouds, bats and buddhist symbols in sky above. Fret border in gold couched thread. Front halves sewn together.
