DescriptionThis spectacular specimen of wire silver is probably the best sample that survives from the Silver Islet mine, Lake Superior. The mine was always in danger of being inundated by the storms of Lake Superior as the island was only a metre or two above the lake level and 100 metres across at the widest point.
