DescriptionInsignia badge for the front of the pufu (overcoat) of a 7th rank civil official (mandarin duck). Blue-black satin entirely covered by embroidery: multicoloured design in knot stitch; background filled with couched gold thread. Left-facing bird on mound in billows with precious objects; pink lotus at sides with slender stems, tendrils, and leaves; bats and clouds scattered on ground. Border of bats, dragons, and Shou characters. Front halves sewn together.
