DescriptionLarge trefoil-mouthed oinochoe (jug) decorated in slip paint with a frieze of ten warriors carrying small round shields. This appears to be made by a local Italic Peucetian workshop which worked in the region between Bari and Gnathia in Apulia. It imitates the shape of Greek vessels from Corinth or East Greece, but is decorated in a local figurative style.
