DescriptionThe name "Canopic" is borrowed from the term for Egyptian containers containing the vital organs, which may have inspired the Etruscan urn type. This urn is missing its lid, which would have taken the form of a human head. The vase itself forms a "bust", with the strips of clay indicating the arms.
