DescriptionThis male adult Orangespotted Sunfish was found in 1980 by a ROM team in Cedar Creek, Ontario. The find was the first time the fish was recorded from Canada. It made its way to Canada across Lake Erie from Ohio, where it was introduced from the Ohio River basin. This colourful fish tolerates the muddy creeks and drains in Essex County, and because there are many such muddy waterways in southwestern Ontario is expanding its range.
