DescriptionThis jug (olpe) is decorated in black-figure technique with four bands of animal friezes. The animals include lions, panthers, bulls, grazing goats and stags, sphinxes, sirens and a goose. It is dated to the Transitional period and was attributed by Amyx to the Painter of Toronto 919.5.110 as the name-vase of that painter.
