The people of Roman Britain worshipped a wide range of gods and goddesses, including Roman and native Celtic deities, as well as Romanized cults from elsewhere in the Empire.

Vases such as the Kernos displayed here may have been offerings for the dead – or may have been connected with the worship of Celtic deities of fertility and the underworld. The three larger vessels are communicating while the smaller fourth cup is separate.
