DescriptionThe chapan is worn by men and women as an outer robe. It is made of assembled ikat-woven strips that run from the front to the back hem. The coat is trimmed with a woven border and is worn wrapped and belted. Typically, it is made of silk or cotton and is often quilted. This robe has been carefully and harmoniously ikat-dyed with two colours around white undyed areas to create a bold stepped design.
