DescriptionSet of insignia badges for the front and back of a pufu (overcoat) for a 2nd rank civil official (golden pheasant). Black silk satin embroidered in silk floss. Left-facing bird separately worked in brilliant polychrome satin stitch embroidery and applied to centre on a rock emerging from waves and billows border. Ground filled with clouds, some terminating in dragon heads, with scattered bats and applied red sun disc in upper left corner. Fret and scroll border on all sides.
