DescriptionThe warp-weighted loom consists of a horizontal top beam supported by 2 uprights placed on a slight slant. Warp ends hang freely from the roller beam, and tension is added by means of weights tied to groups of warps. Contrary to most weaving, the weaver stands in front of the loom, weaves from top to bottom, and beats the weft upwards.
