DescriptionLeft and right halves of an insignia for the front of the pufu (overcoat) of a 5th rank civil official (silver pheasant). Navy satin embroidered with silk floss in knot stitch, motifs outlined in white cord. Left-facing bird on mound above billows with buddhist symbols and precious objects; peonies and peaches grow from rocks at the sides; clouds and bats in the sky above. Border of embroidered bats and shou signs with gold thread.
